Bentonville School District
Director of Visual & Performing Arts
Dr. Reynolds was appointed Director of Visual & Performing Arts in the Bentonville School District in the Fall of 2021. Prior to his Bentonville appointment, he served as Director of Bands at Southeastern University (Lakeland, FL) where he conducted the Southeastern Wind Ensemble, the SEU Pep Band, and Orchestra. Reynolds was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, and received the BME from the University of Central Arkansas, the MM from the University of Maryland, and the DMA in Conducting from the University of Arizona.
Dr. Reynolds experience in higher education includes time as Director of Bands at Southeast Missouri State University, the University of Alabama—Birmingham, Assistant Director of Bands at the University of Arkansas, Associate Director of Bands at New Mexico State University, and as Director of Bands at the University of Arkansas at Monticello. His performing ensembles have appeared in the Las Vegas Bowl, the Tazon Aztec Bowl in Mexico City, as guest entertainment for the Denver Broncos (NFL), meetings of the Arkansas Music Educators Association and the Missouri Music Educators Association, and the National Meeting of the American School Band Directors Association.
Reynolds taught for ten years in public schools. At Kelly Middle School in the Springdale (AR) Public Schools, he taught beginner instrumentals and supervised a program of 200+ band students. In 2010, Reynolds was selected as the Kelly Middle School Teacher of the Year. His secondary public school teaching experience also includes positions as Director of Bands/Coordinator of Instrumental Music for the Alma (AR) Public Schools, Director of Bands/Fine Arts Coordinator for the Warren (AR) Public Schools, and Associate Director of Bands at Springdale (AR) Senior High School. The Alma High School Concert Band was selected as the Outstanding Concert Ensemble at the Showcase Music Festival in Nashville.
Through his professional association with Radio City Music Hall Productions and Walt Disney Entertainment, he has served as Assistant Conductor of the “We the People’ Fanfare Unit (CBS TV), the Opening Ceremonies of the International Summer Special Olympics (ABC TV), and the All-American Symphony Orchestra at Walt Disney World’s EPCOT Center.
He has served as clinician and adjudicator in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Washington, D.C. Dr. Reynolds continues to be in demand as an adjudicator and clinician for all types of artistic events.
